Recycling Production Flow
The production process is designed to remove contaminants and volatile components while maintaining the processing characteristics of recycled PS.
1. Waste PS Sorting & Compacting
Waste PS foam, XPS scraps, and other polystyrene materials are sorted to remove paper, metals, incompatible plastics, and other contaminants. Lightweight foam materials are then compacted into higher-density blocks, improving material handling, storage, and feeding efficiency.
2. Cleaning & Impurity Removal
The compacted materials are crushed into manageable fragments and processed through cleaning equipment. Multiple cleaning stages remove dust, surface contamination, residual adhesives, and other impurities from the PS feedstock.
3. Dehydration & Deep Drying
After cleaning, the PS fragments undergo centrifugal dehydration followed by hot-air drying. Moisture control is essential for stable extrusion and pellet quality, particularly when processing contaminated or moisture-sensitive waste streams.
4. Melting Extrusion & Devolatilization
The dried PS material enters the extrusion system, where controlled heating and screw shearing gradually melt and homogenize the polymer. A multi-stage vacuum devolatilization system removes residual blowing agents, moisture, and other volatile components from the polymer melt.
5. Filtration & Pelletizing
The molten polymer passes through a high-precision filtration system to remove fine contaminants and unmelted particles. Depending on the material characteristics and required pellet specifications, the melt can be processed through underwater or strand pelletizing.
6. Cooling, Screening & Packaging
Freshly formed pellets are cooled and solidified before dehydration and screening. The finished material is classified according to particle size and quality requirements, then packed in standard bags or bulk packaging for transportation and downstream processing.

A. Waste Sorting & Feedstock Control
